My son has made a powerpoint maze game with 600 slide with hyperlinks that
seem to be now causing errors and turning into URL's. The files seem to
change whilst in use....

He broke the files into smaller sub files but the links are still changing
even in the smaller files from hyperlinks to URL links...

We read to change the save function on the help reports and turned OFF the
allow fast saves option

...Before he gets more distressed is this all he needs to do...He has spent
months making the maze game and nearly finsihed when it all started cahnging.

Please tell us he will not have to to re-do all the hyperlinks ...there are
hundreds of them as it is a maze game where you jump bewteen levels etc...

thanks from his Dad who knows a bit about powerpoint but not as much as his
son and cant fix it !!!

Disabling fast saves is a good idea no matter what, but it probably won't have
any effect on the hyperlinking problem.

It's hard to tell what's going on w/o seeing the actual file (and even then it
might be hard to work out) but I suspect he's running into a known PPT problem.
PPT allocates only a fixed amount of space for storing links.  Once you exceed
that limit, the links start to misbehave.

To get some idea of the amount of storage space already in use, you might want
to download our free PPTools FixLinks demo; it includes a tool that produces a
handy report on all the links in your presentation.  There's no need to purchase
anything.  The demo's all you'll need for this.

There is a limit to the amount of hyperlink info Powerpoint can store. Do the
slides have fairly long titles? Since the slide title is part of the stored
info short titles can help.
