I am inserting more than one "sound object" (song) into my powerpoint, and I
would like them to just play back to back.  The presentation is looped.  I
usually take the timing of the song, divide it by the # of slides, and then
insert the next song when the first one ends.  But I was hoping there was a
shorter, easier way.

There is really no easier way. You could as long as the songs are linked,
combine all your songs into one song using a freeware program by Sound
Forges Audacity.
