how do i change the automatic shadow color

my automatic shadow color is blue.  how can i change the default to be black
(the automatic color)

Change it in the slide color scheme. One of those swatches is labeled
"shadow colors" -- that's the one you need to change. It won't change the
color of shadows applied using the text shadow tool, but it will change the
color of the shadow applied via the shadow button on the Drawing toolbar.
