I have a received two pps with the same musical background and would like to
know the name of it.  It is really a beautiful melody.  Can somebody indicate
me how to find out the name.  Thank you in advance.

Your best bet would be to ask the person who has created the pps. Here's one
way you can try out, no guarantee it works though.
First, open PowerPoint.
Click File > Open.
Look for the pps. Click Open.
Select the slide where the background music starts playing.
Now, click Slide Show > Slide Transition.
Depends on how the music is inserted and its format, you might be able to
see the filename (which may be the name of the song). Under sound, see if the
filename of the song is there.

you may try to extract the music form PPS by saving it as Html file.
1. In your PowerPoint, go to "File", click "Open", then choose the PPS
you received and open it
2. Go to "File",click "Save As", in the "Save as type" choose "Web
Page", then click "Save"
3. after you save the PPS as Html, you will get a folder in which you
can find the music.
Enjoy it!
