Hello,

I just purchased Office Pro 2007 and am taking some online college courses.
The specs say that the files must be compatible with 2003, specifically
PowerPoint, but I would like to know on all programs (Word, PP, Access,
Excel)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
-Matt

Is there anything special that I have to do when I save files in PP2007 for
someone to view the file properly in Office 2003?

I know this question may sound remedial, but I am curious.  I didn't think
there was any issues in doing so, but the professor made an announcement to
that point.

Thanks again,
-M

You'll want to use Office Button | Save As and choose 97-2003 format.

Or there are compatibility packs you can install on Office XP and 2003
applications, but it sounds as if your prof wants the "save as."

You should be aware that some things won't be editable in previous versions
of PPT when you save as 97-2003 format. They'll be editable again if you
re-open the 97-2003 format file in PPT 2007, though.

You should be able to view them just fine in 2003 -- but if your classmates
need to edit them, be sure not to use the new 2007 features like effects
(glows, reflections, bevels, etc.), which can be applied to text, objects,
and pictures.
