Unfortunately, you can not edit the Flash object from PowerPoint. You will
have to use Flash to edit it (and I'm guessing you only have the Flash
player, so you probably can't). I don't think there is any workaround to this.

The Flash program for creating and editing Flash files is something that you
have to pay for. You can get information about that product here:

You would need to get the FLA file and edit that, then export/publish it as
a SWF.
I suspect that you have a SWF file, and I don't think they're editable, even
in the Flash program. But you should ask on the Adobe boards to make sure,
since Adobe makes Flash.

Do a google search for "free flash editor" - I got 594 hits.
make sure you use the quotes.

SWF files (which you will have) are really difficult to get into an editable
form (it can be done with a decompiler eg Sothink SWF decompiler but it's
difficult) You should ask the author for the FLA file or maybe a corrected
SWF file. Be aware that even if you get the FLA Flash has a fairly steep
learning curve!
