How to auto update embeded excel worksheet in PPT

Hi all,

I have some embeded excel worksheets and charts in my power point
presentation. These worksheets pull their date from a stand alone excel
workbook. The links all work good but wont update unless I double click on
the embeded chart or worksheet. Is there a way to auto update these embeded
objects without opening each one.

Hi Mike,

You could toss a macro together that would force link updating every X
seconds, but it might get in the way.

What version of PowerPoint are you running?
If it is 2002, or 2003, it is easy to customize and add an 'Update links'
button on one of the toolbars. Just right click on the toolbars, select
customize, then select the Commands tab, the Edit Category, and scroll to
near the bottom for an 'Update link' command. Click and drag it to wherever
toolbar you want it on.
