Thanks so much for you help. I had to go thru several masters to find the one
with the line/graphic that could be edited.
I wonder if I originally created the line in an "offbeat" way that limited
the "edit" function to only one of the Master slides?
If not, then I suggest that it would be more user friendly for the program
to allow you to edit the line on any master, since this line/graphic appears
in all master slides.

If you'd first chosen View, Master, Slide Master or inadvertently clicked the Normal
View icon at bottom left while holding down Shift, that'd explain it.
