i really do not use PPT much, but a customer gave me a PPT file with several
images in it.

i am using winxp latest patches and office pro xp/ppt version 2002
(10.6819.6830) sp3.

when i attempt to open the file i see the 1st image but the list of images
down the left side (including the 1st) all show a red box with an X.  after
some minutes the hourglass goes away and when i click to a new image i just
get another hourglass.  eventually the top bar shows that PPT is not
responding.

a co-worker running vista w/ a newer version of PPT has no problem seeing
the images in the customers file.

i tried uninstalling just PPT from office and re-installing but that didnt
help.

any ideas what may be wrong or how to go about fixing it?

thanks

jim
