Dave,
In PPT 2007 you can customize the text that appears in placeholders. Somehow
you did just that. The message just means you will not see the said text in
lower versions of PPT.
Most probably you added a new placeholder in a new slide layout, and changed
the text in it. In earlier versions you only had a message like "click here
to edit text" that you could not change. So go to the View tab on the
ribbon, click Slide master button and see if you can find the culprit slide
layout there.

Am I correct in assuming that those users on PPT 2003 will see the
normal placeholder text ("Click here to enter text") when they insert
a new slide for a given layout?
