In power point I am trying to make a slide show that involves using s
recording located on my computer.  This is the first time i have tried using
this product this way.  How do i play the music through all the slides
without interruption and sink the slides to change timed with the music?

This will help with playing across multiple slides:

http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00047.htm

You will have to set the timings manually by trial and error.  PowerPoint
does no syncronizing.

If you want to set background music thru all slides, see my guide:
http://www.sameshow.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1992

Moreover, you have to sync music and slide timing by yourself.
You can set advance slide by mouse click or automatically after some time.
