I recently wanted to place some PowerPoint shows on a website for students to download. When I tried linking to the shows in an html document and opened the html document in a browser, I got the usual window with buttons to Open, Save and Cancel the action. The Save and Cancel options work as expected. However, when I Open a show, PowerPoint opens displaying the show so that I can edit it and save the changed document--it doesn't just play the show as happens if I right click and use Open With... Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Is there a way to save PowerPoint shows on a website so that they Play when the Open option is used rather than opening in PowerPoint itself? > I recently wanted to place some PowerPoint shows on a website for students to > download. Most of what happens here will depend on the user's browser settings and the verison of PPT or the viewer they have on their computer.
