Using PPT 2007 I want to copy a show onto disc that can be copied onto
another PC that doesn't have PPT, and be succesfully viewed. I'd prefer not
to package the presentation onto CD as this can't be copied form the CD onto
another PC, can it? I have tried saving the presentation in 2003
compatability mode, and then using this to save as a show, but when trying to
run this on another PC it failed.
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

Package for CD in PPT 2007 saves as a 97-2003 format file, anyway. Yes, this
can be copied to a computer and viewed *if* the computer has PPT or the PPT
Viewer on it.

You must have either PPT or the PPT Viewer to view a PPT file. Period. So
the problem in your description below isn't the PPT file itself -- it's that
the computer doesn't have the Viewer. I thinkyou could probably copy all the
files from the Packaged for CD CD onto the computer and the file would run.
I've not tried it, so you'd have to test it.

If you need to show a PPT file without PPT or the Viewer, you need to look
into converting the file to video or Flash or something. You'd need a player
for the video or Flash file, though. (Most computers have at least something
that can play videos, but I find stand-alone Flash files more problematic.)

Viewing slide show without PPT?
At least you must have a free PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft I think.
Otherwise you need to rip the show on disc as video format not directly rip
the file.

In order to run PowerPoint slide show on other computers, you may try
converting your ppt to other formats, such as Flash file, which is widely
supported by most platforms.
