Created a Pie chart with slices representing percentages, my question is
about formatting the %, which should look like this 0.0%
Sequence I tried was to double click on chart to get the correct menu
bar/ribbon | Format | Number | Percentage | Custom | 0.0% (i.e. 78.5%) but
what I get is 7850%.
Thanks

Hi,

The old percent decimal place trick!

Make sure you do this from within PowerPoint (2007).

Right click on one of the data labels on your Pie Chart within PowerPoint.
Select Format Data Labels. When the dialog box pops up, go to the Number
option on the left. Select the number category Percent, and type into the
Decimal places box the number 1.

You will get a percent with one decimal to place.

Hi,

I can see your problem with the technology. However, from my graphing
experience, I'm not sure it is valid to mix up the number of decimal places
in data!

That is, I'm not sure you can go to zero decimal place accuracy with some
data, and then one decimal place accuracy with other data. So, your 18%
should be 18.0% because that is the level of accuracy of your other data.

I'll edit individually on that particular percentage - my main problem is the
current format of 78.5% (adjusting the format as above with and without the
decimal point) looks like 7850% or 7850.0% - strange, no!?

In the data sheet, type your data like this: .785  That is 78.5% and will
show up as 78.5% on the chart.
