I have 2 different presentations from different companies that I would like
to put together yet preserve the formatting for each deck.  I saw an earlier
post but the answer wasn't relevant to the 2007 version of PowerPoint.  Is
there a way to do this with the new version?  Thanks.

Click Home tab. Under Slides, you will see a "New slide" dropdown. Click on
the dropdown, select Reuse Slides. Click "Open a PowerPoint file".
Look for the file and click Ok.
Put a checkmark to "Keep source formatting", then insert the slides you want.

Thanks!  It worked perfectly except for the page numbering, which continued
from the existing presentation instead of starting new.  I would assume
that's an issue with the slide master.

Not really; it's just that PPT doesn't have anything like Word's Sections that let
you restart numbering.  You can change the starting number of the first slide in
the show, but that's it.

You may have to do the numbering manually if it's critical that it restart.

Is there some way in 2007 of inserting an entire presentation rather than
clicking on each individual page? It gets a bit wearisome after 50 or 60
pages...

Hi, Martin,

Home | New Slide | Reuse Slides. Right-click one of the slide thumbnails and
choose Insert All Slides. (It's not very intuitive, is it?)

What is brilliant is that you were able to find this function. I would be
interested in knowing how much time the developers spend hiding one of the
most useful functions in Powerpoint. It is obvious that these people do not
actually use the software for anything other than a one off show. PPT2007 is
really counter productive to those of us who use the software on a large
scale.

Other useful changes included moving the sorter button from the left side of
the screen to the right side,  and why did they do that?????????? Just cause.
