I cannot see mouse pointer on dark slide

When I have a dark background, on my slide the mouse or insert marker is
virtually impossible to see. I cannot figure out how to change the setting so
that I can see what I am doing.

You can change the pointer in control panel > mouse > pointer>browse. This
may not work in very early versions.

I would need to change it for PowerPoint and then back if I made the pointer
too light. I was looking for a better option but will use this one if nothing
else is suggested.
