I have song words on 4 presentations linked via an index on the first
presentation.
When I go into view show the presenter's view is only available on the first
presentation.  I want to be able to switch back and forth between the 4
presentations.  Powerpoint 2003 on Vista home premium.

You are correct.  Linked or sub shows do not stay current with presenter's
view.  Your best option in this case is to create a temporary show that has
the complete content of all the slides from the 4 shows in it.

Just cut and paste all the shows together into a new one.
