Text shadow problems with PPT 2003

I'm having a really annoying problem in PowerPoint 2003. I can edit the color
scheme(s) and set the text shadows to black. When I apply a text shadow to
white text, the shadow remains black. But if I change either all of the text
or just a portion to another color, yellow for example, PowerPoint 2003
changes the text shadow to white, which then looks terrible as a "shadow" and
also inconsistent with the rest of the slide.

This problem is entirely repeatable under numerous circumstances. Is there
any way to keep the text shadow black without have to switch to object
shadows?

Daniel,

I believe that the text shadow (I can understand you know there are 2
shadows in ppt) is determined by the 'background' color of your slide and
the text color itself.

If the background color is white - and the text black - then the text shadow
is gray
If the background is black - and the text is black - the text shadow is
white

If the background is nearly any shade but white or black - and the text is
white - then the shadow will be black.

However, you can fool powerpoint by telling it to make the background color
anything you want - but then draw a rectangle over the whole slide - and
fill it with whatever color you require.
