Telling shadowed font to 'dim' is a problem

Hi there,
I've got several paragraphs that I'm animating and want to use the "dim"
feature.

Here's the problem. I've applied a black shadow (to make the text more
visible). Unfortunately, when the text dims, the black shadowing takes on
the same colour as the "dim" color which then looks like the text is there
twice (the shadow is the same color as the text). It looks very bad.

Is there a way to maintain the shadow look in the intended "black" color.
There's gotta be a way to beat this.
PS ... I'm using the shadow style feature (as used for objects) ... not the
font shadow feature.

If you are using PowerPoint 2002, the easiest way to do this might be to
create a duplicate textbox underneath (think layers) the original. Then
fade exit the text on the top to reveal the faded text and shadow
underneath.

This is hard to edit (since the two textboxes have to match and overlay
exactly to be effective) but may be easier than most other options.

Hi there

Not sure if there is a simpler way, but you can drop the dim bit and use
emphasis -> change font colour instead. It will require a bit of re-ordering
in the custom animation pane, but nothing too onerous. And it leaves the
shadow colour alone.

If you need more details, post back with your version.

Lucy ... what you suggested did work, but like you said it required a lot of
reordering, but it did what I wanted it to do. I thought I'd posted, but
didn't see it here, so thought I'd post this. Thanks for your response.
