Powerpoint will not play the audio for any of my linked audio WAV files.  It
doesn't matter if I've created them from within PowerPoint using RECORD
NARRATION or if I"ve INSERTED a sound file from an external source.  I've set
up the OPTIONS to link sound files greater than 0 bytes.

The microphone icons appear on each slide and the properties indicate they
are stored in the proper link folder.  When I try and play the sound files
using Windows Media player, they work just find.  It's PPT that doesn't want
to play them.

It doesn't help to save and reopen the PPT file.

What's wrong and what do I need to do?

How long is the path to the linked files?

Do you especially want to link rather that embed them?
