Adding Movie Clips

I have several movie clip I have downloaded to my hard drive as .mpg files. I
am attempting to insert these in a power point presentation but when I insert
them they don't run, just black. I know I have done this before and it
worked. Any ideas?

converting to .avi could solve the problem
