My computer will not play music in a PowerPoint presentation. I have Office
2003 PowerPoint and when I insert a music file from disk it will not play
during the slide show. The file is an MP3 and plays fine with a Windows
Media Player. If I double click on the speaker icon I get the error
message: "The specified file cannot be played on the specified MCI device.
The file may be corrupt, not in the correct format or mo fil."
If I move the presentation and the music file to my laptop, the music play
fine.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Laser,
It sounds like some program hijacked your media settings. PowerPoint depends
on the mci player to play media.
Reinstalling Windows Media Player might help it will reset codecs and such.
