Hello All,
I have a user who is experiencing a very strange issue. When she
double-clicks on a ppt file icon in windows explorer, powepoint 2003
loads and the file opens... but the graphics on the slide master are
not visible on the individual slides. They print out fine, just can't
see them.
If she uses File->Open from within powerpoint 2003 to open the exact
same file, it opens normally and you can see all of the slide master
graphics on the slide.
I've detected and repaired, reset the default user settings, reset the
toolbars and renamed the pip files. Office update says that the office
2003 installation is up to date.
I seem to remember a similar issue with Excel where if you opened the
file by double clicking on a file icon or a shortcut, then Excel would
start but the file would not load. Similar but different.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any add-ins for PowerPoint installed? If so, they might take up a
lot of the computer's memory, so that it can't load the pictures. First
disable all add-ins, then try again.
Best regards,
Ute

In addition to Ute's suggestion, you might try knocking hardware
acceleration back a few notches. Here are instrux:

Thanks for the suggestions Ute and Echo S.
I tried reducing the hardware acceleration but it didn't seem to make
a difference... the graphics loaded fine using File->Open but failed
when the file icon was double clicked. I'll look for the add-ins in
the morning.
Cheers.
