I am a Math Teacher in The Scindia School, Gwalior- India. I have downloaded
a .pps file from Internet which have some mathematical symbols. I have
Microsoft Office 2003 and when I am opening this file in my computer it is
displaying junk characters instead of those symbols. I have checked this in
other systems also but I am facing the same problem. There is one server in
the school, where this file is working fine. Tell me about the problem and
tell me about the possible solutions.

Thanks and Regards,
Anshul Singhal

Dear Anshul,

Each computer that will display the symbol, must have the font from which
the symbols were created. For example, if the symbols were created on one
computer use Garamond, all other computers must also have Garamond for those
symbols to appear properly.

Select a safe font like Arial to avoid this problem.

Not sure if that's true.  If  you embed a font in PPT as editable, it should
also appear correctly on the host PC.
