Most of the DVD-authoring tools in the link John Wilson pointed you to
(http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00156.htm) will do photo album type shows pretty
easily. I believe they let you point to a folder full of pictures and go
from there.

The product bubblepps mentioned will probably do fine with this type of
project also. (I haven't used it, so I can't say for sure.)

Honestly, though, for a simple "make a DVD out of pictures," I'd use Windows
Movie Maker. It's a free download from Microsoft, and you can drag and drop
your pictures to a timeline and add some nice transitions. You can even
easily add a background music track if you want.

On Vista, using Movie Maker 6 (comes with Vista), when you've finished, you
choose File | Publish Movie and choose DVD. On Vista, this opens Windows DVD
Maker. Wow, cool! Easy-peasy. With Windows XP SP2, you get Movie Maker 5.1
(I couldn't find a separate version 6 download, bummer.). In it, you must
File | Save Movie File and choose My Computer. Then go thru the wizard and
when you get to the Movie Settings screen, choose "other settings" and click
DV-AVI. This creates the video for you to make the DVD with. Then use DVD
authoring software to create the video DVD.

No matter which method you choose, be sure to use the trial versions of any
of the software that might be involved so you know what you're getting for
your money and you're sure it does what you expect and want and need.
