Hello,
the video I wan't to show on the slide is 16:9 but the wmv is 4:3 with
black area on the top and bottom side. How could show only cropped version
of the video or crop it?

I've tried to set crop in PowerPoint (2007), but this only stretches the
video.. :(

        Thanks,
           Jan

What you see is what you get. Edit the video outside of PowerPoint, then
re-insert.

Well, then the Crop function should be disabled for videos, shouldn't be? :)

But thank you for answer, at least I know it is not possible. And as it
seems Movie Maker can't do this either, I'll get probably stuck with the
black box.

You might want to check into PFC Pro, then. It will let you crop video in
PPT. http://www.playsforcertain.com/ There's a fully functional 2-week trial
you can download.

Take a look at VisiCrop
It's a video editing tool with crop function.
