Go to Slide Show > Set Up Show.
Under Show slides, ensure that "All" has been selected.

Check if your slide show is setup for showing all slides. Do the following:
1. Select "Slide Show" | "Set Up Show..." menu item.
2. Check the "Show slides" section.

Or, in case you meant the numbering starts at 84 instead of 1...

Everyone else gave you the most likely answer, but one other possibility is
that slides 1 through 83 are hidden. If that is the case, go to slide
sorter view, select slides 1 through 83, go to the Slide Show menu and
choose Hide Slide. If a slide is hidden, you'll see a greyed out slash
through the slide number.

Amazing number of answers for such a simple question, eh?
One more:
If you click the Slide Show icon in the toolbar at bottom of PPT's screen, the
slide show always begins with whatever slide you're currently viewing.
Press F5 or choose SlideShow, View Show from the menu to start with the first
slide in your presentation.
