Text is appearing outside of the textbox.  How to resolve?

When opening a powerpoint file that was created in Powerpoint 2003, the text
appear outside of the text box.

Is a local printer installed? The Office programs rely on that. You need not
have a printer to be attached physically to your computer, but have to
install a recent printer driver as the standard printer.
