I have followed the tutoral (Insert/movies&sound/browes/select), to insert a
9 kb .wmv format video into a pp 2003 presentation with an automatic start,
but when the slideshow reaches that slide I get a blank screen. Nor will it
play using the "play" button on the custom animation tab.
What am I doing wrong?

Something is wrong with the file. A wmv requires about 8.5 K just to hold
all the header information. I suspect you have an "empty" video.

When I open the video straight from my file it plays nicely.

Austin,
Following your thread to Dinesh in April I tried moving the presentation and
video file from my network drive to my laptop and re-inserted it.
Thanks, it works like a charm!
ps. you were also right about file size.... is 9mb not kb.......
