pausing narration during editing

In PPT 2007, is it possible to pause playback of the narration during editing?

I'm inserting animations to correspond with the narration.

As it is I have to listen to the narration from the beginning each time to
get the timing for each animation.

There's a third party add-in:

If you do this a lot, it's probably worth getting.

Once a sound starts playing you can usually click on the microphone to
stop/start it, but everything has to be done from beginning to end per slide.
