In editing one of our PowerPoints (PoerPoint 2007), the application freezes
when the scroll bar is used. We have found that this occurs when the custom
animations palette is open. It occurs on all of our PCs, some are running
Windows XP, some Vista.
We always create a pair of documents with each PowerPoint: one a
presentation delivered from hard drive (a .pptx) and a version that's saved
as a .UCF for display on Webex. The presentation does include some video
segments.
Please help.

My suggestion is to contact WebEx.

Austin,
I shouldn't have included the second paragraph. The glitch occurs in
PowerPoint prior to saving the doc as a UCF. So there should have been
no reference to Webex in my note. Do you have any ideas as to what's
causing the problem?
Thanks.

I missed something here ... what's the connection between the first paragraph
and the second? Does the freeze only occur when the WebEx addin is in use?

OK, second para excised.
I just tried to repro this and couldn't.
For starters, I would see if setting hardware acceleration back has any effect.

Are all of your PCs created from the same image? (I'm thinking it may be a
mouse drivers or video drivers issue, but it's odd that it occurs on all
PCs.)
I know you mentioned that you shouldn't have included the second paragraph
about Webex, but the other thought that comes to mind is it's an add-in
issue. (And I think WebEx probably gives you an add-in of some type to
enable saving as .UCF. But you may have others as well.) So, I'd see if
uninstalling or disabling all add-ins resolves the issue. If so, then you
can re-install/enable them one at a time until you locate the problem
add-in.
In PPT 2007, you can see the installed add-ins in Office Button | PPT
Options | Add-Ins. Some of them come with PPT when it's installed, and they
shouldn't be a problem: Custom XML Data, Invisible On-Slide Content,
Off-Slide Content, Presentation Notes. (They're listed as type "Document
Inspector.")
