Is it possible to run a PPT in the background?

I have duel diasplays and I would like to run a ppt presentation on one and
use the other for general work.

At the moment I can have the ppt running on the second screen, but as soon
as I click on an applicatin on my main screen the ppt stops.

Are you running Vista or XP? If Vista, you can do it with the trick here:

as an add-in and introduces the following slide show features in a machine
supporting multi-monitor configuration:

 1.. View the slide show on a monitor while you continue working on
something else on another monitor.

shows at the same time or a show and do something else!
