I cannot see how to set up a ppt file to play automatically once my e-mailed
attachment is opened by the receiver

The best way is to either send a link to the PPS file on-line, or send it as
a trimmed PPS that the user will have to click on to open.

Anything that auto-anything's on a computer is a major red security flag.

You should give the receiver the chance to opt out, it is only polite.
Besides, what if the boss is looking over their shoulder when you send them
the beautiful pictures of your grand-daughter.  She is cute.  They probably
want to see them.  But do they NEED to see them whenever the email is
opened?
