Hi all

I am using MS Office 2003. I have created some Charts in Excel. When I try
to copy them and paste into Power Point, I cannot see the objects, just
disappears.

No error message of any sort. Tried to re-install MS Office package, did not
help either.

I will sincerely appreciate any tips / ideas how to overcome this error.

PS: I get the same response from MS Word as well.

Thanks and best regards.,

Try changing your hardware acceleration.

See How to set graphics hardware acceleration back
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129.htm for instructions.

Oh, "Red X" is a different problem. See

That's not quite the same as the "invisible" you mentioned earlier.  It's
important to give as much precise detail as you can ... remember that we can't
see anything but your words.  It's up to you to make them describe what you can
see.

OK.  No more scolding. ;-)

Have you tried Help, Detect and Repair?  If not, I'd definitely give that a go

Here is the right problem description:
"You open a PowerPoint presentation and find that all of your graphics have
been replaced a blank rectangle with a small red x icon in the upper left
corner."

But, just as an information, when I access the Terminal server using Citrix
connection and use the Power Point avaialble in the Terminal server it works
perfect from my same PC.

Also I am trying to think how to reproduce the problem. Only thing I can
remember is I installed the Power Point templates that I imported from the
Microsoft site. Now I have uninstalled it.

Still suffering...........

That's good to know.  As I understand it, in that situation, the Citrix
server's running PowerPoint and handling the video.  It's just passing an image
back to your PC.

That suggests that your video driver isn't up to speed.

Give this a test:

That was the first thing suggested ... before we knew it was a red X.

I can't think of what the issue might be. Have you installed the latest
service pack for Office 2003? (I think it's SP3.)

Typically, the Red X is PPT's way of saying "I can't display this graphic (for
any of several reasons, but I'm not going to tell you which)."

Try changing the video display resolution and color depth.  Sometimes one mode
will cause trouble where other modes don't.

Ok, I went for the final option. Re-install Windows from scratch... Back in
business now...

Thanks for your support.

Wow, that's a drastic measure, but it's really good to know that it worked.
