I created a show with PowerPoint 2003. When I open it with PowerPoint 2007, it will not let me edit it. I want to change some text in a text box on the first slide and it won't highlight the text box when I click on it. There is something in the title bar about "compatibility mode", so I thought I would do a Save As. Both Save and Save As are disabled. I have a large library of slideshows that I have put together over the years and I really need to be able to edit them. Is it possible? Thanks. Yes, Not sure about before Office 2007 SP1 but with Office 2007 SP1 installed, it now gives the option to convert previous versions to 2007. My indexing program, for example, uses the automation interface to iterate over the contents of the slide. But after saving with PPT2007, all the background items in the slide master appear instead as objects which are considered part of the "slide", and not part of the "master". Created a lot of problems. Both Save and Save As are disabled. There are a couple things that might force PPT into read-only/reduced functionality mode. Expired trial version Original presentation had certain fonts embedded but you don't have the fonts installed on your computer.
