I have created a presentation template. Is there a way to access that in the
Slide Designs menu every time I open a presentation on my system? (e.g., if I
want to quickly update an old presentation?)

Hi

Did you save it as a .pot? If so it should have taken you to the default
place to put templates (C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates). Put the .pot in that folder and it will appear in
the 'available for use' list in the slide design taskpane. If you put a _ at
the beginning of the name it will be second in the list (after default).

If this doesn't help, let us know your powerpoint version & operating
system.
