Importing pictures from file

I am importing pictures from a number of sources.  They are all okay except
for those that are coming from a CD.  These appear in the presentation as an
empty box except for a red cross in the top right corner.  Help anyone?

Jeannie,

How are you inserting the pictures into powerpoint.

The safest (most reliable) way is to do this

insert menu > pictures > from file

then navigate to your cd drive.... select the picture and click

Insert

Then repeat for any other pictures
