PPT 2007: Setting Shape default for Text to "Do Not Autofit" for all     presentations

I've hunted high and low here (for over an hour) before posting this
question. Perhaps I'm just not quite awake:

In PPT '07 (or should I say PPTX '07?), I'd like to be able to have
any shape I create to default to "Do Not Autofit." I never seemed to
have this problem in '03. Am I missing something?

Try setting up a shape how you need it and right click > set as default
shape. Does that work?

Yes, that works. I'm trying to get PPT to keep default to "Do Not
Autofit" when you open a new PPT.
