I'm building a very large PPT file.  It's currently 48 mb.
Working on two different computers (one XP, one Vista) I
keep getting the error message shown below.  If it was just
happening on one computer I'd think maybe it was a system
failure of some sort.  But it's happening on both of them.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The file in question has images, but no sound  or video
clips.  Thanks in advance. - Tony Lima

"There was an error accessing  ."

This error can be caused by the following conditions:

Your hard drive or floppy drive has a corrupt section
(damaged track or sector).
A temporary operating system or network failure has
occurred.
Your network is unavailable, slow, or is corrupting data
packets (failure of a router, network card, or noise on the
network transmission line).
Your antivirus program may be causing problems accessing
certain files.
In the case of a damaged disk, you must save the file to
another location (for example, a different drive).

In the case of a failure of the operating system, this can
be caused by various memory management problems, viruses,
incorrect usage of a UNC, alias, or invalid perimissions to
the share where the file is stored.

If the network is experiencing problems, it is usually a
temporary condition and if you wait a short period of time
and try again, you can usually save the file. If the problem
persists, consult your network administrator.

A known condition with an antivirus program can cause a
similar condition. Check with the manufacturer of your
antivirus program to see if an update exists.

Hi Tony,

Confusion here.  Are you asking or answering the question?
If you're having the problem, should we assume that you've tried the suggested
solutions, including disabling antivirus software?

Steve, sorry for the confusion.  I'm asking a question.  And
I believe I've tried all the standard processes, including
disabling all the anti-spyware and anti-virus software on
both machines.

Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated. - Tony

OK, thanks Tony.  Just wanted to be sure.  And thanks for letting us know what
you've tried already.

If you're saving to a network drive, move the file to the local hard drive and try
working with it from there.

Are there any linked images in the presentation, or images you've copy/pasted
directly from a web page?

Steve, I'm working on a local hard drive.  As far as I know
there are no linked images or images copied from a web page
in the file.

I have a few suggestions from MS tech support that I'll try
-- as well as a few ideas of my own.  I'll update this
thread if/when I find something that works.  Thanks again. -
Tony
