I am trying to make a square with different sections in it , each with
different colors.
Is there a simple way to section off an autoshape and color it?

Draw a square with the autoshape. Then use the Freeform line tool (middle one
on bottom row of lines) to draw shapes inside the square. You can then colour
each one as you like. Does this help?
