The video file is in Windows media player playlist and plays perfectly in
media player.  I have followed directions as follows: with the slide into
which I want the video embeded I clicked insert, then movies and sound, then
movie from file and then the icon for the file in movie player.  A speaker is
displayed in the PP slide. There was a directional message asking if I wanted
the video to start immediately when the slide appears or wait until clicked.
I said immediately.  But, nothing happenede.

You can not use a video playlist in PowerPoint this way.  It must be an
actual video file.

Thanks, I will get a copy of the video in mpeg.  I assume that should work.
