I am converting an old filmstrip that has pauses during each slide that the
earlier users simply stopped an audio tape player to perform an activity then
started the tape up again for the next instruction. The slide remained on the
screen during this time. The the slide would be manually or automatically
change when the opperations were completed. How can I do a similar operation
in PowerPoint? I can time the slides with the narration but can't find any
instructions on just pausing the narration and leaving the slide on the
computer screen.

Hi,
Do you mean you need the slides to be paused at the presentation? If so you
have the pause button in powerpoint right? You can pause with a with screen
by pressing "W"....

Also you can change from automatic slide transition to mouse click so that
it will move the slide only on mouse click
