A Powerpoint presentation prepared on Powerpoint 2003 when shown on a
computer with Powerpoint 2007 loses the animations and font colours on the
first slide but thereafter it is OK

You may need to redo that slide, especially if it's a title slide layout.
There are some weird things with title slides running between PPT 2007 and
2003.

Your problem sounds a bit like that to me -- potentially something goofy
with the translation of color schemes coupled with an animation scheme
setting or something. How were the animations applied? Are they one of the
animation schemes?

That said, it could also be a display issue we see quite often here -- which
is usually resolved by installing a Windows-certified printer driver and
setting it as the default printer. See

How to install a local printer driver
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00605.htm

The printer driver mentioned in that FAQ is a pretty generic one -- usually
a good one to try yourself as a troubleshooting step.
