I'm new to Office 2007. I have an ppsx file with many links to an xlsm file.
As I am adding links (while both files are open) and saving periodically
they all work perfectly. However after I close the ppsx file and reopen, the
links don't work. "Edit Links to Files" tells me the links are still there
and are "available", but when I try to update them (either while opening or
individually) I get "The linked file was unavailable and can't be updated."
error and the link goes to "unavailable". The files are located in the same
server directory and have never been moved.
Help. I never had this problem with Excel/PPT 2003.
Thanks,
casey
FWIW. After now reading a previous post a couple of weeks ago for a possible
workaround, I moved my files from Server2003 box to my local drive. This
worked but still waiting for MS to fix issue.

As are we all, Casey. We've no idea when the fix will appear though.
Glad you found the workaround though.

Thanks, Steve. Just using my local drive now. Your earlier posts on March
9-10 with Mark helped.

To whom it may concern...
MS have a HotFix for the problem linking across the network - No:
KB948943.
Cheers, Steve.

You rock, sir, you rock. Thanks for posting this, Steve.
In a few minutes, I'll have a note about it here:
PowerPoint 2007 won't update links to files on network drives
