I am trying to get an MPG file to play in ppt 2007.  When I do the slideshow,
there is a lag of about 1-2 seconds before the video starts on each slide.  I
have tried to work with all of the functions within the program, but I have
had no luck with them.  Also, I can't get the text that I want to put over
the slide to show up.  Basically, I want the motion video to be the
background, loop through the presentation and the text to be in front.
Please help.  Thanks!

Make sure that there is no program running in the background - everything
that makes the computer proabably slower should be stopped.
Sometimes it helps to run the presentation one time before showing it
finally.

That was possible in 2003 with text in a textbox from the toolbar "Control
Toolbox".
But this behaviour seems to have changed - for me it doesn't work any longer
in 2007. Textboxes from the Toolbox show in top of the video during the
normal view but are hidden in the background when start the slide show.

Guy,

You might want to read this tutorial

I would strongly suggest converting the Mpeg to a format that is more
PowerPoint friendly and reducing the files size so it loads faster.
