Hi,

I'd be grateful for some advice.  I have been viewing some Powerpoint files
for a long period by using the free  downloadable Powerpoint viewer, and
have had no probs.  I now find that the viewer will not display the text in
some newer compiled files.  The only difference to the past files is that
the new ones have been compiled on a PC with XP recently installed.  Any
ideas of what the problem of missing text could be would be much appreciated

Many thanks,
Paul

I guess new system has powerpoint version 2007. If thats the case you might
be saving the file as 2007 version slide show. This might be the reason why
you not able to view the show.
If this is the case, you have two options:
1) Save the show as 2003 compatible file.
2) Download and install free powerpoint 2007 viewer

I would start with this:

PowerPoint 2007 text editing slow, text cut off, text display or formatting
problems, print, crash problems
