I was working on powerpoint 2007 slides. On one of my slides, I have many
objects, out of which I have give same type of animation to all objects
except one object. I selected the object but I am not getting the invert
selection option. I even tried office 2003 shortcut like alt+E+I but it is
not working.
I am using office 2007 professional plus with sp1 on win xp sp2.

I know invert selection only from the Windows Explorer, not from inside
Office. Are you sure that you had a native Office 2003 without any addins or
macros?

Narendra,
You are looking for a way to reverse the selection. Don't think you can do
that in PowerPoint, you can do it in Windows Explorer. But maybe I am just
not understanding your question.
Since you are working in PPT 2007 you could use the selection and visibility
task pane to easily select and de-select animated objects on your slide. For
instance in your case you could hide that one animation that is different
for the others then select the remaining objects on your slide. To get to
it, click Home tab, in the editing section, click select button, choose
selection and visibility pane.

The Invert selection features is in windows explorer and not in office
(including the previous version of xp)
It was my mistake that i tried in office.
But there is point in my discussion:I have to select many tiny objects like
small dots or line. It will easy for me to select a bigger object (which i
don't want to select) and simply reverse the selection.
This will be useful features if it is added in MS Office. Till then I will
use the current features.
Thanks for reply.

Narendra,
Have you read my suggestion to use the Selection and visibility task pane,
that should ease your task.
Here's a tutorial from Echo on the very subject:

In addition, you can select all objects and then press Shift and click the
object you want to unselect.

But yes, the Selection and Visibility pane often makes it easier to deselect
something -- especially if it's hidden under another object.

There's a little macro to do this here:

Invert the current selection: select all unselected shapes
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00887.htm

And a free add-in that does this and a lot more here:
