I need to import slides given me by coworkers into a master file to be shown
in a weekly presentation. "Insert From File" was a simple process in
Powerpoint 2003, but now that we have been upgraded to Office 2007, I have
not been able to find a way to insert/import other slides into my master
Powerpoint file. Online training videos for the 2007 Powerpoint does not seem
to cover this and I've not found the correct method on my own.  Does anyone
know how to do this?  I can cut and paste, but that does not grab the entire
formatting. I need to import the files given me for our presentation.

From the page you sent me to:
"Insert | Slides From File is now Insert | Add Slide | Reuse Slides.
Navigate to your file, and the slide thumbnails will show up in the task
pane. There's no way to add multiple slides at once, so be prepared to click,
click, click your fingers off. (Don't shoot the messenger; I think it's
ridiculous, too.) But you can insert all the slides by right-clicking and
choosing Insert All Slides."

Okay, this looks like it might have been a step in the right direction, but
where the instructions say "Instert | Add Slide | Reuse Slide" is not what I
see. When I click on the Insert tab in the Ribbon, I see grayed out choices
for "Picture", "Clip Art", "Shapes", "SmartArt" and "Chart".  The only
selection not grayed-out is "Photo Album".  I would assume "Chart" is what I
need, but that's not available while my master file is open and ready for
other slides to be inserted. I've not found any other Insert menu anywhere,
so I'm still looking for the solution.  Thanks.

Yeah, sorry, I wrote this page during the beta, and they changed that button
in the final release. I've updated it just now.

It's on the Home Tab | New Slide (bottom half of the button) | Reuse Slides.

YES!  This is exactly what I needed. I completely missed seeing a dropdown
on the New Slide button.

Thank you!

Hi

You may find this spreadsheet helpful too for finding all those lost
commands. I couldn't have survived without it (well, my laptop wouldn't have
as it would have gone through the window within hours) when I started using
2007:
Where have all the commands gone?
