Pausing audio in Powerpoint

I'm using Powerpoint 2007.  I have some audio clips in my presentation; I'd
like to be able to click the sound icon (or a trigger) to pause the clips.

I was able to set up pause commands in custom animation, but when I re-start
the audio, it picks up again at the beginning, not where I left off.  Any
ideas?

Thanks.

Which file format do you use for your audio? Pause does not work with all
audio types, e.g. you cannot pause a MID file.

Best regards,
Ute
