Font Problem Printing PowerPoint 2007

I had a presentation that was developed in PowerPoint 2003 where some text
contained "shawdows". When printing I could select an option to not allow the
shadow printing in order to have a clearer text. When opening the .ppt in
PowerPoint 2007, on the screen in color the text appears fine, but when
switching to black/white or grayscale display, it appears the shadow
formatting in 2003 is somehow incorporated as the font and cannot be removed.
The result is that the font style is much thicker/blurrier when displaying in
black/whilte or grayscale and re-formatting does not fix the problem. This
appears to be a problem when opening a prior version of a .ppt. I have also
tried "converting" the .ppt to 2007 and the same formatting problem exists.

Is it a text shadow or a shape shadow? (See
http://www.echosvoice.com/2007/shadows.htm)

Perhaps that makes a difference? (Sorry, I don't know for sure and can't
check right now.)

Thanks...it appears that formating text with a shadow in 2003 is treated like
a shape in 2007. So, I was unable to get the text shadow removed since ppt
was thinking shape. Reading some other posts I found how to remove shape
shadow which fixed my text shadow problem. Unfortunately, I will have to go
thru all the slides individually to correct the problem.  thanks again.

Ah. I'll have to add explicit instructions about how to remove shape shadows
to that page, I guess. Thanks.

I need the other direction.  The old file had drop shadows, and now with Word
2007, it shows on the screen, but not in the print out.

You might ask about this in one of the Word groups, then.

If you mean PowerPoint, though, go to Office Button | PPT Options and choose
"high quality" in the printing options.
